RGS 1 is a high purity graphite laminate sheet with a Nickel reinforcement. This product is suitable for general sealing applications however is specifically good for use with steam and most chemicals with the exception of strong oxidising media. Of the three Flexicarb RGS products, RGS1 is the easiest to cut which can be beneficial for on site gasket production

RGS 3 is a high purity reinforced graphite with a tanged stainless-steel core. RGS3 is recommended for applications involving high sealing stresses. The addition of the tanged steel reinforcement improves the materials robustness, great where high blowout resistance is required. RGS 3 is suitable for a wide range of media however is not recommended for sealing chemical oxidising agents.

RGS4 is an high purity reinforced graphite with a flat stainless steel reinforcement. Unlike the RGS3, RGS3 is mechanically bonded onto its steel insert enabling it to be cut to suit narrower flanges. RGS4 is suitable for a wide range of media however is not recommended for sealing chemical oxidising agents.
