Rockwool® slab insulation is produced by spinning molten basaltic rock at extremely high temperatures, forming fine mineral wool fibres that are tightly interwoven. These fibres are compressed into a dense yet lightweight block and bonded with a premium resin, resulting in a material renowned for its superior acoustic and thermal insulation capabilities.
Henry Gallacher offers the semi-rigid RWA45 grade of Rockwool® insulation, widely used for insulating walls, roofs, HVAC ductwork, floors, and ceilings across both commercial and residential sectors. This insulation effectively traps warm air to reduce energy usage and provides broad-spectrum sound absorption. It is also non-hygroscopic, meaning it resists moisture absorption and requires no upkeep once installed.
The RWA45 Rockwool® slab carries a Euroclass A1 fire rating under BS EN 13501-1, classifying it as non-combustible. It meets recognised standards, including BS EN 13162:2012, and bears the CE mark to EN 13162. The material is user-friendly and can be shaped easily with a sharp knife.
