Sponge Sheeting

Sponge Sheeting

Sponge sheetings, also known as expanded or cellular rubber, offer greater compressibility than solid rubber and are widely used in sealing applications. Available in both open-cell and closed-cell formats, each type provides distinct performance benefits depending on the environment and level of sealing required.

Closed-cell sponge and foam don't have connecting cavities or pores, which prevents the ingress of moisture, dust, air, and grit. This makes it ideal for sealing applications where water resistance, air tightness, and sound or gas retention are critical, while still benefiting from the compressibility of sponge or foam materials.

Open-cell sponge and foam have interconnected pores and cavities, allowing higher compression and improved recovery when pressure is released. While this structure offers excellent flexibility, it allows air, dust, and moisture to pass through, making it better suited to applications where breathability and cushioning are more important than sealing.

Our sponge and foam rubber sheet materials are available in a wide range of sheet and roll sizes, thicknesses, and grades. As an experienced material converter, we can also manufacture sponge rubber into bespoke components, including gaskets, strips, coils, and precision-cut shapes.
