Glass Based Laminates (SRBG)

Glass Based Laminates
Glass-based laminates (sometimes referred to as SRBGs or synthetic resin bonded glass) are manufactured using high-pressure laminating processes that combine glass base materials with various synthetic resins. These laminates are primarily utilised for their superior electrical insulating properties and also exhibit high mechanical strength, notable chemical resistance, and minimal moisture absorption.
SRBGs generally possess greater density compared to fabric- and paper-based laminates, offering enhanced temperature stability, reduced smoke emissions, lower toxicity, and inherent flame retardancy. The B30 and B32 grades are approved by London Underground Limited (LUL), confirming their suitability for use in underground transportation systems.
Due to their rigidity, these laminates can be processed using standard in-house equipment designed for engineering plastics, such as CNC milling, CNC sawing, routing, drilling, and turning. Both full sheets and custom-cut pieces are available upon request.
