Acetal Homopolymer (Delrin®) Rod

Acetal Homopolymer (Delrin®) Rod

Acetal homopolymer rod, commonly known as Delrin®, is a durable and rigid plastic distinguished by superior mechanical strength, hardness, and resistance to creep compared to acetal copolymer. It exhibits excellent wear resistance and is straightforward to machine. This material also offers strong electrical insulation and withstands dilute acids, cleaning agents, and certain solvents. Additionally, it features a lower thermal expansion rate than acetal copolymer.

Typical Uses

Ideal for components such as friction bearings, gears, housings, rollers, insulators, and snap-fit connectors.

Main Benefits

  • Operates effectively up to +110°C, with short-term tolerance up to +150°C.
  • Superior mechanical strength, hardness, and creep resistance relative to acetal copolymer.
  • Enhanced temperature resistance over acetal copolymer.
  • Outstanding electrical insulation characteristics.
  • Easy to machine with precision.
  • Exceptional wear resistance.
