Ceramic Ladder Tape

Ceramic ladder tape is crafted from blown alumino-silicate fibre yarn, combining high-purity alumina and silica to deliver exceptional physical and refractory qualities. This makes it ideal for demanding high-temperature environments. The tape is typically reinforced with nickel-chrome wire, though glass yarn reinforcement is also available.

Applications

Suitable for high-temperature applications. Ceramic ladder tape may be used for welding and furnace curtains, protective clothing, personnel shields, fire-resistant drapes, thermocouple protection sleeves, pipe insulation, expansion joints, and inspection door seals.

Key Features

Temperature resistance up to +1260°C (base fabric).
Note: Ceramic fibre products can be reinforced with either glass yarn or wire. Glass yarn reinforcement is rated up to +550°C, while wire reinforcement withstands up to +1000°C.
Excellent strength and insulation at high temperatures.
Asbestos-free composition.
High tensile strength.
Standard nickel chrome wire reinforcement.

Note: A small amount of organic binder is used in ceramic yarn production to assist spinning. This may cause 'flashing' at elevated temperatures, which can be prevented by heat-cleaning the tape before use or by allowing the binder to burn off during initial use.
