Tadpole Seals

Tadpole Seals

Henry Gallacher offers a range of tadpole seals (also known as P seals) designed for demanding, dry-heat environments. These seals are ideal for door sealing in areas with frequent high temperatures. Selecting the correct seal depends on factors such as the equipment's operating temperature and how often the door is open and closed.

Applications

Our tadpole seals are widely used in sealing oven, boiler, kiln, and furnace doors, often serving as direct replacements for original equipment manufacturer seals. We can supply tadpole seals combining any outer cover with any bulb type, as detailed in the tables below.

Key Features

  • Superior insulation performance.
  • Varied bulb compressibility options tailored to application needs.
  • Glass and ceramic covers offer strong resistance to oils, solvents, and chemicals.
  • Aramid fibre provides outstanding cut and abrasion resistance.

Availability

Please specify the bulb size, tail width, and overall length when making an enquiry. We also supply double-bulbed tadpole seals upon request.

Tadpole Seals - Outer Cover Options

Material Temperature (°C) Key Features
Glass Fibre Up to +550 Woven glass yarns with exceptional thermal resistance. Good resistance to oils, solvents, thermal shock and chemicals.
Ceramic Fibre Up to +1260 Woven ceramic yarns with even better thermal resistance. Good resistance to steam, oils, solvents and chemicals.
Aramid Fibre Up to +350 Excellent abrasion and cut resistance, high tensile strength, and good dimensional stability.
Body Soluble Cloth Up to +900 A synthetic, non-ceramic, interwoven fibre alternative. Body soluble cloth maintains excellent thermal resistance.
