PEI (Ultem®) rod is a natural, unreinforced polyetherimide thermoplastic known for its excellent rigidity and thermal mechanical strength, ideal for challenging environments. This amorphous material is food approved and withstands repeated hot steam sterilisation. PEI (Ultem®) rod is straightforward to machine and weld, offering reliable electrical insulation.

Applications

Common uses include microwave components, insulators, surgical tools, sight glasses, and switch parts.
