PTFE Sheet - Stainless Steel Filled

Bronze filled PTFE sheet combines superior mechanical strength, improved dimensional stability, and enhanced thermal conductivity compared to standard PTFE grades. This composite material, made from 60% Virgin PTFE and 40% bronze powder, excels in applications requiring wear resistance under heavy compressive forces and effective dissipation of static electricity and heat. While it operates across a wide temperature range with minimal cold creep, its chemical resistance is lower than other PTFE variants due to the bronze filler.

Among PTFE compounds, the bronze filled grade is notably dense, with a specific gravity of 3.14 g/cm³. Its kinetic coefficient of friction is comparable to the glass filled and stainless steel filled alternatives. Its minimal deformation under load makes it particularly suitable for unlubricated bearing applications.

This material is ideal for alternating, oscillating, and helical motion applications where chemical resistance is not critical. Applications

Commonly used for high-performance shaft bearings, slide plates, and gaskets, bronze filled PTFE is also frequently fabricated into bearing, piston, and wear rings.

Due to PTFE’s inherent properties and manufacturing methods, sheets thinner than 6mm may not appear perfectly flat. Thicker sheets are typically moulded, which helps maintain flatness. Thickness tolerance for PTFE is ± 5% overall, or ± 1mm to ± 2mm (whichever is greater). Additional sizes and thicknesses may be available upon request.
