Carbon filled PTFE sheet offers enhanced dimensional stability and a reduced coefficient of thermal expansion compared to standard PTFE grades. It is highly chemical resistant, exhibits good compressive strength, and is classified as partially electrically conductive and anti-static. With 25% carbon filling, this PTFE variant shows improved resistance to creep, deformation, and wear relative to virgin PTFE, although its mechanical strength remains modest compared to other engineering plastics like polyethylene. Compared to glass filled PTFE, it demonstrates lower deformation under load and a higher kinetic coefficient of friction.

This polymer is often chosen for high-speed applications that require electrical charge dissipation and low friction. Applications

Typical uses include valve seats, gaskets, washers, shaft bearings, filter housings, shaft seals, slide runners, chemical tank linings, pump and instrument components, and electrical insulation parts.

Due to PTFE’s inherent properties and manufacturing methods, sheets thinner than 6mm may not appear perfectly flat. Thicker sheets are typically moulded, which helps maintain flatness. Thickness tolerance for PTFE is ± 5% overall, or ± 1mm or ± 2mm (whichever is greater). Additional sizes and thicknesses may be available upon request.
