Glass filled PTFE sheet offers superior resistance to creep and wear compared to Virgin PTFE. It incorporates a 25% glass fibre filler that enhances the polymer's dimensional stability and reduces deformation under load. This material also offers excellent chemical resistance, except against hydrofluoric acid and certain alkali metals, alongside exceptional electrical insulating properties. While it improves kinetic friction resistance, it exhibits greater deformation under load relative to carbon filled PTFE.
Commonly applied where increased durability and material strength are essential, glass filled PTFE is used in valve seats, gaskets, pump housings, shaft seals, and bearings operating at low PV (pressure/velocity) conditions.
